DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY

Disassembly Steps 1-10 & Required Special Tools:

ASSEMBLY SERVICE POINT
>>A<< O-RING INSTALLATION
Install a O-ring to the transfer, and apply ATF or petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to the O-ring.

>>B<< OIL SEAL INSTALLATION





Use special tool MD998800, to tap the oil seal into the transfer cover.

>>C<< OIL SEAL INSTALLATION





Use special tools MB990937 and MB990938, to tap the oil seal into the transfer cover.

>>D<< OIL SEAL INSTALLATION





CAUTION: Apply ATF to the oil seal lip before installing the transfer. Use special tools MB990887 and MB990891, to tap the oil seal into the transfer.

CAUTION: Apply ATF to the gear oil before installing the transfer. Use special tool MB990936, to tap the oil seal into the transfer.
