Removal and Installation

FUEL PUMP MODULE REPLACEMENT

1. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
2. Fuel pump connector disconnection (Refer to On-vehicle Service).




3. Remove the service hole cover mounting screws and remove the service hole cover.




4. Disconnect the fuel pump connector, fuel tank differential pressure sensor connector, fuel high-pressure hose and fuel suction tube .

CAUTION: For AWD: When withdrawing the fuel pump module from the fuel tank, be careful not to damage the module unit and the float.

5. Remove the mounting nuts and plate, and remove the fuel pump module [Fuel pump assembly , Fuel pump and fuel level sensor assembly ] from the service hole.

NOTE: To disassemble or assemble the fuel pump module (fuel pump assembly or fuel pump and fuel level sensor assembly ), refer to the section "Fuel pump (module) disassembly and assembly".

6. Replace the fuel tank pump gasket.

CAUTION: For AWD: When installing the fuel pump module into the fuel tank, be careful not to damage the module unit and the float.

7. Install the fuel pump module [Fuel pump assembly , Fuel pump and fuel level sensor assembly ] to the fuel tank through the service hole.

8. Install the plate to the fuel tank and tighten the mounting nuts to the specified torque.

Tightening torque: 2.5 ± 0.4 Nm (22 ± 4 in-lb)

9. Connect the fuel pump connector, fuel tank differential pressure sensor connector, fuel high-pressure hose and fuel suction tube .

10. Tighten the service hole cover mounting screws and install the service hole cover.
11. Install the rear seat cushion assembly.
